Killing two birds with one stone and all that.  Dropped my second girl, Sarah, at GAC and carried out an undercover moderatorial visit (i.e. they hadn’t a notion that it was the MODERATOR, and rightly so)  62 girls at GAC this year under Fiona’s leadership.  Not only should we thank our Covenant God for these 62 young girls and the homes and congregations that they come from – but give thanks for these leaders.  I knew quite a few of the officers at the camp and was struck  not only by the level of organisation of the team but their genuine interest in the girls.  The officers were diligent in welcoming the campers, keeping an eye to any newcomers and helping all to settle in.  That is just typical of the level of care that our children enjoy at camp.  The young leaders had that gentleness of the Lord Jesus.  They sat and chatted with the girls interested in all the details of their lives.   What a blessing to leave our girls in these capable hands who will share with them the wisdom of God that true womanly beauty is in knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and having His word frame every dimension of life.  As a denomination we need to continue to pray  that the Lord will use these weeks of camps to bless our girls.  Praying that the Lord will use this time with exemplary young Christian women to stamp godliness on these young lives.

One other thing – in fact two.  What an encouragement to see all these young woman leading and teaching younger women.  I think that I know most of their mums and dads – if you happen to stumble on this blog – Jesus Christ has given you grace to do a good job of bring your girls up to follow Jesus.  I am sure you are rightly proud of them.  I will keep praying that one day all three of my girls will serve the Saviour in the same way.

The second thing.  Wandered into the kitchen to find a stalwart of RP Camps cooking sausages and chips for the girls (it wasn’t healthy eating night!).  About 20 plus years ago the same woman was serving Jesus Christ in RP Camps as a leader.  That is the grace to persevere, that is joy in serving Jesus that lasts the years.  Again I pray that my three girls will not be flash in the pan (excuse the pun ) servants but will so love Jesus that all their days will be taken up in devotion for Him.
